Maze Weed
The maze is my response to the old Winchester laundry building in it's decay and was featured in the '10 days at the Laundry' exhibition in Winchester, organised by The Yard Studios.
I didn't want to cover up the building or abuse it by using it merely as a space to exhibit, but work with it and revive it in some way.
The maze is an organic, living organism that has grown in through the gaps and unused pipes, almost taking over the building. Not may people will have noticed the building's revenge. There is a fuse box in one corner with with a small sign saying danger. The maze has grown over it and it got fried!
Comments:
'I like the use of space and wonderful organic forms filling nooks and crannies' G and Josie from Woking
'I had dreams a bit like this as a child - as if you're a shape travelling through a labyrinth in space (!) ' Rachel
'Fascinating, organic plastic!' Joe
'I love your work with an organic feel to geometric shapes' R
